DPL Prestige Car Transportation – Trading Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: 01.01.2026

These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of vehicle transport services by DPL Prestige] to the customer . By booking our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Definitions

  • Vehicle: The motor vehicle or vehicles to be transported.
  • Customer: The individual or entity requesting transport services.
  • Transport Services: The carriage of vehicles from a specified collection point to a delivery point, as agreed in writing.
  • Open Transport: Transport of vehicles on an uncovered trailer.
  • Enclosed Transport: Transport of vehicles in a covered, protected trailer.
  • Premium Services: Any services beyond standard transport, including enclosed transport, white-glove handling, express delivery, or storage.

2. Booking and Payment

2.1. Quotations are valid for 14 days unless otherwise stated.

2.2. A booking is confirmed once a deposit or full payment (as agreed) has been received.

2.3. Payment Terms:

  • Deposit: 25% payable at booking.
  • Balance: outstanding payments to made 48 hours before collection unless otherwise agreed.
  • Accepted Payment Methods: Bank transfer, credit/debit card.

2.4. Late payment may delay collection or delivery and may incur storage or rescheduling fees.

3. Cancellation and Refunds

3.1. Cancellations more than 48 hours before collection: Full refund.

3.2. Cancellations within 48 hours: Deposit non-refundable.

3.3. Once the vehicle is collected, full charges apply.

3.4. If we must cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, for example poor weather conditions, a full refund will be offered, or rescheduling arranged at no extra cost.

4. Collection and Delivery

4.1. You are responsible for ensuring that the collection and delivery locations are accessible for the transport vehicle.

4.2. You or an authorised person must be present at collection and delivery to sign documentation unless otherwise agreed in writing.

4.3. We require a minimum of 2 working days notice to change collection or delivery arrangements.

5. Vehicle Condition and Inspection

5.1. The vehicle must be roadworthy (unless agreed otherwise), free of loose items, and must have sufficient ground clearance (min 10 cm).

5.2. A Condition Report will be completed at collection and delivery. You must inspect and sign it.

5.3. We are not liable for:

  • Pre-existing damage or mechanical issues.
  • Damage caused by items left inside the vehicle.
  • Damage due to insufficient clearance or modifications not disclosed prior to transport.

6. Insurance and Liability

6.1. Your vehicle is covered under our Goods in Transit insurance up to [e.g., £150,000] per vehicle.

6.2. You are responsible for advising us of the accurate value of your vehicle prior to transport. Additional insurance is available upon request.

6.3. We are not liable for:

  • Mechanical or electrical failure during or after transport.
  • Damage due to force majeure, acts of God, or road conditions beyond our control.

6.4. Claims must be submitted in writing within 24 hours of delivery with supporting evidence.

7. Customer Responsibilities

You must:

  • Provide accurate vehicle details, including dimensions, condition, and any modifications.
  • Ensure the vehicle is clean enough for inspection.
  • Disable any alarms and provide keys, immobiliser fobs, and documentation as required.
  • Remove toll tags, parking permits, or personal items.

8. Delays and Force Majeure

8.1. We aim to meet agreed timelines but cannot guarantee exact collection or delivery times due to traffic, weather, breakdowns, or unforeseen circumstances.

8.2. We are not liable for any losses resulting from delays beyond our control.

9. Storage and Additional Charges

9.1. Storage fees apply if a vehicle cannot be delivered or collected due to customer delay or lack of access.

9.2. Additional charges may apply for:

  • Waiting time beyond 30 minutes.
  • Specialist equipment or additional manpower required for loading/unloading.
  • Transporting non-running or damaged vehicles (unless agreed in advance).

10. Confidentiality and Privacy

We take your privacy seriously. Any personal or vehicle information is handled in accordance with UK GDPR and Data Protection legislation. We do not share your data with third parties without your consent, except as required to fulfil our services or by law.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Optional Add-on Clauses:

  • Photography Clause: We may take photographs of vehicles for documentation purposes. These will not be used for marketing without your permission.
  • Marketing Consent: With your consent, we may feature your vehicle on our website or social media channels.
